Are we excited or what?
There have been a couple events in the past like this and they just get better
and better. How exciting to attend one of these drills-more than a drill! It's
like adult scout camp! CERT members have the opportunity to expand their
knowledge as well as learn about all the other agencies involved in disaster
preparedness. Everyone just expands their friendships, networks, knowledge,
and focus. I can't tell you how wonderful this is going to be as a training
exercise. My daughter, Tressa, was working as a county fire dispatcher and
was invited to participate in a multi-agency drill at this state university, just
before it was made into a college. It was a long drill, practicing different
scenarios and it all went into well into the night and she said the grounds there,
are just beautiful. Tressa also said she saw areas that the public will never
have a chance to see and at night it was a bit "scary." I need "scary!"
I can't even imagine how wonderful a sunrise there would be on a warm
summer morning. It will be work, learning to team with others, meeting new
friends, seeing new places, and experiencing the most important..a chance to
be of service to others. This could be the most important training of your life.
It may save your life, your family, or your neighbor. And, how important is
that? The very most important.

that ISN'T even close to what's going to happen and what we are
going to learn. Some VERY, VERY special guests will be there to
encourage us and meet us first hand. Let me tell you, if you are
looking for action on any level-this is absolutely IT! You have gotta'
go! I know way to much, writing this on our site is making me shake
in my boots!
